Basheer Jones is a Cleveland-based poet, author, filmmaker, theologian, and public speaker whose work explores justice, healing, faith, and the resilience of the human spirit. Born in Brooklyn, New York, and raised in Cleveland's Hough neighborhood, he began writing poetry at the age of seven as a way to process the realities of poverty, the absence of his father, and the challenges of growing up Black in America.

Today, Basheer uses poetry, film, and storytelling to spark dialogue, inspire transformation, and advocate for justice. His creative work is deeply informed by his experiences in community organizing, public service, and faith leadership. In addition to authoring more than twenty books, he has shared his message through national media, public lectures, and performances across the country. Whether writing, speaking, or creating visual stories, Basheer's work invites audiences to imagine healing, truth, and liberation as collective possibilities.
