Privacy Policy

Our privacy policy explains what we collect, why, and what we will and won't do with it.

Last updated: [DATE]

The short version

We collect as little as we can. We don't sell your information, we don't trade it, and we don't share it with anyone outside the organizations we need to run the site and process donations.

Sensitive information

Because the RAG works with people impacted by incarceration, some applications, surveys, or program forms may ask about incarceration or reentry experiences when that information is relevant to membership, programming, evaluation, or support. We only ask for information we have a reason to use, and we limit access to the people who need it. We do not publish information about a person's incarceration history without their permission.

What we collect

When you use the contact form. Your name, your email address, and whatever you write to us.

When you join our email list. Your email address, and your name if you give it.

When you donate. Square collects your payment information and processes the transaction. We receive your name, your email address, the amount, and the date. We do not receive or store your card number.

When you apply as an artist. Whatever you enter in our Google Form.

Automatically, when you visit. Our website host records standard technical information, including your approximate location by region, the pages you view, the site that referred you, and your browser type. We use this to understand which pages people find useful.

What we don't collect

We don't ask about your record, your case, your charges, your release date, or your supervision status anywhere on this site. If you choose to tell us something like that in a message to us, we keep it confidential and we don't add it to any list or database.

We don't use advertising trackers, and we don't run ad retargeting.

How we use it

To answer your message. To send you updates and opportunities if you asked for them. To process and acknowledge your donation. To review artist applications. To see which parts of the site are working.

That's the whole list. We don't use your information for anything else without asking you.

Who else handles it

We use a small number of outside services to run the site, and each one handles some of your information under its own privacy policy:

  • [WEBSITE HOST AND PLATFORM] for hosting the site
  • Square for donations
  • Mailchimp for our email list
  • Google Forms for artist applications

We don't sell or rent your information to anyone, ever.

If we're presented with a subpoena, court order, or other legal demand for information, we will require valid legal process, we will give no more than what is actually required, and we will tell you about it unless the law forbids us from doing so.
