Brenda Luttrell is a textile artist whose work explores healing, motherhood, resilience, and community. Working in crochet, felting, sewing, and painting, she creates expressive handmade pieces that bring personality and warmth to animals, objects, and everyday life. As a survivor, Brenda views creativity as a lifelong source of healing and connection and enjoys encouraging younger generations to discover their own creative voices. She has been a member of the Returning Artists Guild since 2022.

Artist statement

I bring character and personality to the animals and objects I create through crochet, sewing, and painting. As a survivor, creativity has been a source of healing, resilience, and connection throughout my life, helping me navigate challenges while building lasting friendships and community.My creative work reflects the many experiences that have shaped me and continues to connect me with others across generations. I especially enjoy encouraging my great-grandson and other young people to explore their own creativity and imagination. Through my work, I hope to show that art can help people persevere, build community, and discover new possibilities.
