Jenn is a fiber artist whose practice is rooted in exploration, healing, and self-discovery. Working primarily with weaving, she approaches art as both a creative process and a metaphor for connection, bringing together experiences, identities, and personal growth through thoughtful, repetitive making.

Influenced by a lifetime of navigating belonging and difference, Jenn's work explores themes of identity, transformation, and resilience. Rather than beginning with fixed outcomes, she embraces experimentation and curiosity, allowing each piece to become a record of reflection, healing, and the ongoing process of discovering her artistic voice.

Artist statement

I am still discovering what art means to me and what my voice within it will become. Right now, my work centers on weaving, not only as a physical process but as a way of thinking about connection, identity, and personal growth.

I grew up in a conservative environment where anything outside accepted social norms was often met with resistance. For much of my life, I adapted by becoming a chameleon, trying to blend into whatever environment I found myself in. Even then, I often felt like an outsider. Those experiences continue to shape the way I approach my work today.

Art began as therapy rather than ambition. I am drawn to repetition, structure, and line because they create a sense of grounding and peace. The creative process gives me space to slow down, reflect, and work toward greater balance in my life. As I continue to grow, I am learning to become more comfortable with uncertainty and to trust the process rather than focusing only on the outcome.

I don't always begin with a clear vision, and I'm learning that's okay. Each piece teaches me something about myself. My work reflects where I am today: weaving together healing, structure, curiosity, and the possibility of transformation. I hope others who experience my work recognize that becoming is just as meaningful as arriving.
