Imagining Abolition: Carceral Perspectives from the Directly Impacted was presented at the Herndon Gallery at Antioch College in Yellow Springs, Ohio, throughout September 2022.
Guest curated by the Returning Artists Guild co-founder Aimee Wissman, the exhibition showcased visual art by currently and formerly incarcerated artists, centering the creative work and perspectives of people directly impacted by the criminal legal system.
The monthlong exhibition invited audiences to engage with artists’ visions and experiences while creating space for community dialogue around incarceration, freedom and abolition.
