Cincinnati’s Local 12 covers the opening of Home Free at the Fitton Center for Creative Arts in Hamilton, Ohio, highlighting the RAG’s work to bring the art and perspectives of currently and formerly incarcerated artists to a broader audience.
The exhibition features 77 works by 16 artists across three galleries, exploring mass incarceration and its impact on individuals and communities while celebrating the artists and their creative practices. Local 12 also speaks with the RAG co-founders Kamisha Thomas and Aimee Wissman about the ideas behind the exhibition and Thomas’ installation exploring the school-to-prison pipeline and the experience of entering prison.
